Understanding Ecosystems & Predicting Ecosystems Change

Ecology of freshwater and wetlands

Research includes (1) evolution, bioenergetics, and population dynamics of species assemblages in freshwater and wetland ecosystems at multiple scales; (2) landscape-scale studies of wetland quality and wetland vegetation; (3) ecological studies of lakes in former Soviet republics, particularly Lake Sevan (Armenia); (4) developing new methods in biostatistics (particularly multivariate); and (5) landscape-scale studies in avian ecology in wetlands and offshore habitats.
