Short Biography

I am a Geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey at the Cascades Volcano Observatory in Vancouver, Washington.  I specialize in spatial analysis for volcano hazards assessment and geologic mapping, mainly as applied to Cascade volcanoes such as Mount St. Helens, Newberry, Crater Lake, and Medicine Lake.  I am currently involved in several projects, including: compilation and analysis of a spatial database of volcanic vents in the Cascade Range, field mapping and characterization of Holocene rhyolitic tephras at Medicine Lake volcano in northern California, and correlation of tephras found in central Oregon to major eruptions in the Cascades.  Over the summer of 2014, I was the Acting Geoscience Advisor at the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance in Washington, D.C.
