I'm interested in the role of different sources and habitats in supporting fish populations and how fish behavior can in turn influence food webs or ecosystem processes.

At the USGS field station in Lake Ontario I lead assessment and research efforts on rainbow smelt and sculpin.

In addition I participate in collaborative research projects in: northern Wisconsin, lakes defining the effect of terrestrial inputs to these ecosystems and Mongolia lakes, quantifying climate change effects in near-pristine systems.
